about

Elantropy is a multidisciplinary artist working across visual art, including installation, painting, printmaking, sculpture, textiles, glass, ceramics, artist books, graphic novels, text, video, sound, and photography. Born in Cill Dara (Kildare), Ireland, she lives and works on Whadjuk Noongar Country in Boorloo (Perth), Australia.

Guided by philosophy, systems thinking, and speculative approaches, her practice unfolds transnationally through an interdisciplinary lens. She explores the complex entanglements of place, culture, identity, and being alongside more-than-human others within ecological, social, and technological systems that shape contemporary experience.

Process-led, experimental, and exploratory, her work moves between order and chaos, structure and intuition, attending to subtle, difficult, or unspoken aspects of experience within living, non-living, social, and technological systems. It engages ecological relations, material-technological processes, and the ways meaning emerges through interaction, mediation, and everyday encounter.

Through chance, reflection, and deliberate unknowing, elements, systems, and ideas emerge, deform, and re-form. Uncertainty shapes the work’s unfolding in relation to place, time, embodiment, and the environments, both organic and constructed, in which it occurs.

At these intersections, art for Elantropy is inquiry: thinking in action, reframing how meaning is formed and held. Discoveries arise naturally, and creation follows what is noticed rather than imposing pre-conceived outcomes. The work remains open-ended, responsive, relational, and  perpetually becoming.
