Weepform 2022
Weepform evokes The Weeping Woman through ceramic abstraction, transforming grief into an embodied relational system. Each surface traces the circulation of emotional labour across social, cultural, and material networks, highlighting human endurance, vulnerability, and interdependence. The work acts as a site of speculative inquiry, inviting reflection on how individual emotion interacts with and reshapes the systems we inhabit, from bodies and communities to broader more-than-human networks and how these entanglements might evolve.
Weepform is hand-built from recycled local white clay, grounding the work in place while exploring the circulation of material and emotion. The clay’s history and imperfections resonate with themes of endurance, vulnerability, and relational entanglement.
Recycled white local clay, hand-built, slip, wire, paper, glazes and kiln fired. 45 × 26 × 14 cm
